Brochures are traditionally used for information, and used by retailers, restaurants, PR firms, banks, schools and even politicians. Basically anyone who has information to share. When one thinks of a brochure most think of a single page folded leaflet. HOW BORING!!  This is certainly not the case. The reason that brochures are such a ubiquitous print marketing tool comes down to their adaptability. Brands can get as imaginative as they want with what they want their finished product to look like.

Here are some ideas to make you brochure pop and your brand to stand out from the rest.

Use brochures as an invitation – use the opportunity to not only inform your client of an event, but also to inform your client about who you are and what you do.

Think beyond standard folding options – there is no one way to fold a brochure. Let your brochure stand out by opting for some non-traditional folds, this will also send a message that your brand is forward thinking and has out of-the-box ideas.

Play around with shape – who says that a brochure has to be rectangle. Go circle, hexagon or even a pirate ship. The shape must just be foldable.

Size it small with a snake fold – who says smaller can’t be impactful.

Include and infographic – while most infographics are seen online, who says you can’t bring them into print.

Tell a fortune – even though your business is not in the business of fortune telling, your brochure can mimic a paper fortune teller. Use each panel to highlight a different product or service, the benefit of this is that you can fit a ton of information on a small brochure and the final product is 3 dimensional making a really strong impact.

Make your imagery the star – use attention grabbing images.  Incorporate imagery into overall design instead of just using them to break up text.

Supplement your brochure with a gift – sweeten the offer with gift, by incorporating a useful gift with a brochure your recipient is more likely to remember your brochure and have incentive to read your brochure.

Embrace embossing – by embossing you can add depth and texture to a page.

Pop it out – consider using a pop out which combines text from multiple panels of your brochure to highlight the message you want to share.
